Arpizol 5 MG Tablet
This medication treats symptoms of psychotic conditions such as schizophrenia, tourette's disorder, bipolar disorder, autistic disorder, aggression and mood swings. It only controls the symptoms but cannot be used to cure the disease. The drug restores the balance of certain natural chemicals in the brain which decreases hallucinations and improves your concentration.
You should not take this tablet if you are allergic to it. Before starting the medication, inform your doctor if you have any of the following conditions:
- liver or kidney disease.
- seizures, epilepsy, phenylketonuria, high or low blood pressure or high cholesterol
- a history of low white blood cell (WBC) count
- heart disease, heart rhythm problems, or a history of heart attack or stroke
- a history of obsessive-compulsive disorder, impulse-control disorder, or addictive behaviours.
How long is the duration of effect?The effect of this medicine lasts for an average duration of 3 to 4 days.
What is the onset of action?The peak effect of this medicine can be observed in 1 to 3 hours.

This medication is an antipsychotic agent that works as a partial agonist of dopamine D2 receptors and serotonin 5-HT1A receptors and relieves positive symptoms of schizophrenia and as a strong antagonist of serotonin 5-HT2A receptors which relieves the negative symptoms of schizophrenia.
