Dear lybrate user, asthma is preceded by the production of histamines in the blood. Histamine is produced due to the entrance of foreign particles in the body. The triggering cause behind the onset of asthma varies in every patient. A detailed case taking along with some blood test results are required to diagnose the proper underlying cause of asthma. Please conduct a laboratory test of your blood for tc, dc, esr & ige. Revert back with the results & consult me privately via lybrate. In the mean-time you can take homoeopathic mother tincture grindelia robusta q, 30 drops, thrice daily, after meals, in a cup of water.

Hi Lybrate-user, Yes, Ayurveda can help you to cure allergy and asthma. You have to improve your immunity. Allergy is a disorder in which the body becomes hypersensitive to particular antigens which provokes characteristic symptoms whenever they are subsequently encounter, whether inhaled, ingested, infected or otherwise contacted. Normally antibodies in the blood stream and tissues react with and destroy specific antigen without further trouble. Different allergies afflict different tissues and may have either local or general effects. When a person's routine life is disturbed, he gets disturbed and agitated and functioning of endocrine glands gets adversely affected which ultimately causes, at time allergic reaction/metabolic changes. You should avoid Urad, banana, oil fried food spices. Saline water gargle should be done before meals. Non-irritating and bland diet, hot water, lemon, green and leafy vegetables particularly having sour and bitter taste. You can also doing this at home: 6-7 basil leaves 5-6 cloves (powder) 2-3 black piper 1/4 teaspoon ginger paste all this add in 150 ml of water then boiling mild flame and reduce to 100 ml. Later filtered and allowed to warm o it's own. Then add 2 teaspoon of honey and drink .it gives you relieved. Hot water steam will also facilitate draining from the nose and also provide relief in pain over forehead. Every day, in morning put 3-4 drops of cow ghee in your both nasal then sleep 10 to 15 min. Ayurveda nasya treatment gives you permenant relief. You feel better. For further treatment you take an online appointment for further details and treatment to get relief permanent.

I have a sneezing problem from last 5 year whenever exposed to dust. Please help.

MBBS, MD - Internal Medicine

Sneezing, sore throat, a stuffy nose, coughing -- everyone knows the symptoms of the common cold. It is probably the most common illness. In the course of a year, people in the United States suffer 1 billion colds. What can you do for your cold or cough symptoms? Besides drinking plenty of fluids and getting plenty of rest, you may want to take medicines. There are lots of different cold and cough medicines, and they do different things. Nasal decongestants - unclog a stuffy nose Cough suppressants - quiet a cough Expectorants - loosen mucus so you can cough it up Antihistamines - stop runny noses and sneezing Pain relievers - ease fever, headaches, and minor aches and pains Here are some other things to keep in mind about cold and cough medicines. Read labels, because many cold and cough medicines contain the same active ingredients. Taking too much of certain pain relievers can lead to serious injury. Do not give cough medicines to children under four, and don't give aspirin to children. Finally, antibiotics won't help a cold.

Air Pollution - Tips to Prevent Asthma From Worsening!

MBBS, MD - General Medicine

Air Pollution - Tips to Prevent Asthma From Worsening!

Asthma is a distressing condition during which people find it difficult to breathe as the bronchi or tubes carrying air to lungs swell up. This happens when mucus inside bronchi comes into contact with an allergen like a pollutant or dirt causing symptoms like wheezing, coughing, more mucus production and difficulty breathing. There is no cure for asthma. As of now, it can only be managed. But managing asthma becomes really difficult during low air quality days, especially during winters when it’s cold and dry.

The most common air pollutants are gases like sulphur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide, vehicle smoke, and suspended particles. Each one of them can trigger an asthma attack by itself because of its deleterious effect on the lungs. The smaller the particulate matter is, the more dangerous it becomes as these particles get lodged in the air sacs inside lungs, causing not just asthma from worsening but also fatal diseases like lung cancer.

So, most asthma patients suffer from frequent attacks due to air pollution. How can these attacks be prevented? Here are some tips:

  1. According to research, asthma can be managed by making modifications in everyday life. On high air pollution days due to ozone, for example, asthmatics tend to experience more lung inflammation. If you are an asthmatic, you should reduce time spent outdoors, especially doing strenuous activity in the mornings and evenings. Keeping medications on hand and using those at the very start of an asthma attack also helps. There should always be a plan in place to lessen the chance of an asthma attack on poor air quality days starting from a rescue inhaler to preventive medication if your doctor feels you need it.
  2. Stay hydrated and breathe through the nose. Dehydration is dangerous for asthmatics especially when air quality is bad. In this case, lungs can become badly affected because they need right temperature and levels of water to work properly. It’s crucial to breathe through the nose only and not the mouth as the air breathed in from the mouth can be very cold and dry and can cause even more inflammation of the lungs.
  3. Know your asthma triggers and change lifestyle. Avoiding your triggers is key to managing asthma. If traffic fumes are a trigger, it’s best to change the route you take to work to manage your asthma. If you don’t know your triggers look back at your last asthma attack and remember what you were doing. Did you pet your dog? Write a diary and discuss with your doctor on how to avoid your triggers. Use a face mask when outdoors to limit exposure to allergens.
  4. Track your asthma to recognise early signs of asthma. If you know that it’s getting worse, you should have a fool-proof plan in place. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a General Physician.

You seem to be over occupied with your own thought process. Yes being introvert is one of the reasons for the way you feel. You are reading too much between the lines and so your concentration on the happenings around you is less and you think you are absent minded. You have got a kind of guilty conscience about your so called bad qualities, which can be corrected by sincere efforts. Having sugar level 135 is not anything which you have to worry for. The feeling of weakness might be due to your negative thoughts and loss of appetite and poor nutrition. The same may be the cause of mouth ulcers. Think on a positive note and many things can change dramatically.
