About Doxacard 1Mg Tablet

Doxacard 1Mg Tablet is an alpha blocker. It relaxes your veins and arteries so that blood can pass more easily through them. It also relaxes the muscles in the prostate and bladder neck, making it easier to urinate. This medicine is used in the treatment of hypertension or high blood pressure. Lowering high blood pressure helps prevent strokes, heart attacks, and kidney problems. It is also used by men with benign prostatic hyperplasia meaning enlarged prostate, to make urination easier. The form of this medicine used to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia should not be used to treat high blood pressure. The antihypertensive effect of Doxacard 1Mg Tablet results from a decrease in systemic vascular resistance. The parent compound in Doxacard 1Mg Tablet is primarily responsible for the antihypertensive activity.

Some of the side effects that may occur are dizziness, drowsiness, light-headedness, unusual tiredness or weight gain. Some other side effects include fatigue, swelling of the feet, irregular heartbeat or pounding, symptomatic orthostatic effects, hypotension, profuse sweating, vertigo, hypertension, malaise, syncope and oedema. If any of these effects persist or get worse, tell your doctor or pharmacist immediately. Painful or prolonged erection of the penis which is called priapism, although an extremely rare side effect must have immediate medical attention.

      Taking doxazosin with alcohol may lower your blood pressure. This can cause dizziness or feeling like you might pass out, especially when getting up from a sitting or lying position.
