Restorative Dentistry treatment is a type of bonding treatment that is gaining momentum in the field of dentistry. It is a procedure in which thin shells of porcelain known as veneers are bonded to the front of the teeth to restore the natural appearance of the teeth. They can be used to fix chipped, or a misaligned worn down, uneven or even an abnormally spaced teeth. The dentist would also suggest dentures to make the teeth look healthier and stronger. The procedure involves two types of materials namely composite resin and porcelain. The process involves hardening the teeth to the desired quotient. The resin is then applied. The resin is made in the dental lab as per the measurements taken earlier. This is then bonded using resin cement to the teeth. The material will appear brittle, but after the bonding, it can become strong and durable. After the material is set, the resin is further shaped to get the desired look. Veneers are a relatively simple procedure and are seen as an alternative to crowns. Also, the tooth enamel removed is very minimal. The method requires an anesthetic, and usually the treatment takes place in an hour. The only disadvantage is that since it is a type of bonding, proper care should be taken while maintaining it. Regular brushing and flossing can be done. Simply put, the dentures have to be taken care of like a normal tooth.
