I want to become a civil servant, so I left my career and joined a light job to finance myself. Initially I was good in preparation but these days am unable to do so. Due to that shift job im unable to coupe up with sleep and lacking a mindset for preparation which is also making me depress. Please help.

Reparenting Technique, BA, BEd
Psychologist, Bangalore
Sleep is very important to concentration and short term memory. Are you exercising? A good work out every day will help you sleep well. Shift timings can mess up your circadian cycles to badly impact sleep. Check back and see what has disturbed your preparations recently. Go back to the conditions that suited you earlier. Do group study or attend some tutorials, especially if the exams are approaching shortly. You have been responsible in your plans, so I believe that you can reorganize yourself to sort out this problem.

She have a rear hole in their heart then what exercise she will do for remove a hole and give some remedies also.

She have a rear hole in their heart then what exercise she will do for remove a hole and give some remedies also.
Dear Lybrateuser, - There are no specific exercises for closure of the hole, she should carry on doing her normal activity as long as she doesn't feel tired & weak - sometimes if the size is small the hole closes on its own & if the person becomes symptomatic then surgery is required - she should be investigated & checked by a cardiologist as constant monitoring is also required in future.

If you want sterilization, there are 3 methods. 1. Open abdominal surgery. 2. Sterilization thro vaginal route. 3. Sterilization by laparoscopy. Usually these surgery requires very small incision. So you need not worry. Otherwise you go for laparoscopy surgery, still smaller incision but a bit costlier.

Hye, Thanks for the query. Being underweight can be a concern if it's the result of poor nutrition. Here are some healthy ways to gain weight when you're underweight: Eat more frequently. When you're underweight, you may feel full faster. Eat five to six smaller meals during the day rather than two or three large meals.Choose nutrient-rich foods. As part of an overall healthy diet, choose whole-grain breads, rice and cereals; fruits and vegetables; dairy products; lean protein sources; and nuts. Don't fill up on diet soda, coffee and other drinks with few calories and little nutritional value. Instead, drink smoothies or healthy shakes. Snack on nuts, dried fruits and fresh fruits. Even when you're underweight, be mindful of excess sugar and fat. An occasional slice of cake or ice cream is fine. But most sweets should be healthy and provide nutrients in addition to calories. Sheera, lassi and chikki are good choices. Exercise, especially strength training, can help you gain weight by building up your muscles. Exercise may also stimulate your appetite.

To be frank, its not possible to increase the ht in this age, ht is basically genetically inherited from parental back ground, which can not be changed that code. Upto 20-21 yrs, there are chances for growing a bit extra. Than genetically decide, provide doing significant exercises, sports under guidence of instructors. But other than that,& in this age, as already calcification done. There are no chances to grwo further beyond your prefixed ht. Going for surgery is major risk in my view. Which will show other healthn hazards than success.&as per cost. If anybody comes forward to do surgery. As it comes under plastic surgery/cosmotics. Very expensive, but with no guarantee& moreover health risks.

Hi. It's normal to lose up to 100 hair per day, and in most people, those hairs grow back. But many men -- and some women -- lose hair as they grow older. You can also lose your hair if you have certain diseases, such as thyroid problems, diabetes, or lupus. If you take certain medicines or have chemotherapy for cancer, you may also lose your hair. Other causes are stress, a low protein diet, a family history, use of bore water, or nutritional deficiencies. Need to rule out any causative factor or underlying medical condition. The causes of premature graying of hair are several. Here we have listed out a few common causes. Heredity is a major reason for hair greying Excessive use of tobacco and smoking Chronic emotional stress or psychological worries Lack of nutrients such as vitamins, iron, copper and iodine in the diet Medical conditions such as anemia, hypothyroidism, tuberous sclerosis or neurofibromatosis Management: Take diet rich in protein like non-veg, eggs (it's loaded with essential nutrients such as proteins, vitamin b12, iron, zinc and omega 6 fatty acids in large amounts and biotin), different pulses & legumes, sprouts, nuts (sp. Walnuts and almonds); iron-rich food like green vegetables, dates, carrots, prunes, green peas; also oats, shrimp, take flaxseeds, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, green tea, soyabean, fruits, salads, etc. Take low-fat dairy products (they also contain whey and casein, two high-quality protein sources) take proper 6-9hrs of sound sleep. Give up the habit of smoking and excessive alcohol intake. Avoid junk food and any kind of beverages (tea, coffee, aerated drinks, cold drinks, etc.) avoid canned/ tinned food or food that contains preservatives (eat fresh ones). Avoid use of hard water to wash the head rather use boiled water for head wash. Avoid use of harsh hair colour, hair treatment like rebonding, straightening, perming, etc. Avoid vigorous exercises or any supplements provided by the gym! cover your head with scarf or cap while stepping outside. Use rose wood/ any wooden hair comb to brush your hair. Regularly massage head and hair with coconut oil, almond oil (depending upon your scalp type) 1 to 3 times a week. Regular exercising is also one of the important point, but should be done under some good, qualified yoga teacher or instructor for proper guidance; it also releases the stress/ tension in the mind and the body and keeps you fit and young! Medication: Take homoeopathic medicines - Schwabe's Wiesbaden 200 & Alfalfa tonic twice a day for 1 month and revert. Use Schwabe's Arnica shampoo and Hair Growth oil regularly as per the condition of your scalp (minimum 3 times a week). After shampooing, use Bakson's Arnica hair conditioner as well after every head wash. And a multivitamin - A to Z/ 1 cap. daily once for 1 month (as deficiency of zinc, copper and selenium can also cause premature greying).

Dear lybrate-user, In some patients, we need to try many medications. If medications fails then there are brain stimulatory modalities like MECT, RTMS etc which can help patients. Since you have written here about your problem, this shows that you can get improvement on medication. Try to reduce your sleep duration by one hour, do exercise, involve in some games of your choice. All d best!

Dear lybrate user. I can understand. If you want to know whether a girl loves you or not, the best method is to propose her. Immediately you will come to know. There are no short cuts. You can observe her behavior and see whether things are favorable. But such a step is always unsatisfactory for you because you want to know the truth. Propose her and hope for the best. Take care.

hello doctors! I'm 25 years old. Unmarried and working lady. I've been suffering from a number of problems, some from my adolescence which are still there and have become chronic and some have developed recently. I have many health issues at the same time, below is the list:- 1- i'm exhausted all the time, I feel lethargic and slouchy. 2- few years back I used to have extreme pelvic pain; I couldn't stand the pain and my Dr. Gave me injections of voveran. Now from the last year my periods are not regular, I just menstruate for one day. 3- i'm constantly putting on weight, especially around my belly. I exercise but it doesn't help. 4- when I was 13 years old my knees used to knuckle/crack a lot. This condition remained for 8-9 years. Now it doesn't happen but i've severe pain in my knees and ankles; i'm not able to climb stairs, I can't do cycling I can't walk fast, cannot jump/jog, in short I feel like a 60 years old lady. 5- also I pent when I climb stairs or walk fast. My folks say that i'm a lazy girl and not at all attentive. 6- i'm absent minded, so much forgetful. I misplace things most of the time. One doctor said i've dementia or alzheimer's. I'm shocked. 7- I look pale and have many skin problems, like breakouts, scars, black head white heads, patchy skin. Did consult doctors. But nothing did really help. Blood test already done, there's no blood infection. 8- i've consulted a gynaecologist too for my periods and skin issues, conducted some tests which were normal. I feared of pcos but luckily it was not that but there was some watery discharge from my left breast. 9- i'm short sighted too and my number is -8. Severe headache is common. 10 - in 2013 I was down with typhoid. My haemoglobin was 7.8 at that time and I took iron tabs (dexorange) for three months. 11- four five years back I had a bone marrow test which indicated my bones were weak. In later years I consulted an specialist he said I hv arthritis, I didn't continue the medicines. 12- my tongue has unusual black spots. My metabolism isn't good. Constipation is not a regular problem. 13- recently i'm realising that my body's tiny hair including my face is growing dark. I fear of hormonal problem. 14- from last one month i've chronic bony pain especially in my hands, feet and legs. My finger joints are paining like anything, I can't keep my feet on the floor, it hurts badly. I'm not able to sleep due to unbearable pain. In fact I can't explain my condition. Every part of my body pains, I feel sick, very very sick. Please help, what should I do, i'm stressed out, not even able to work properly in my office. Where to start? who's the right doctor? please help out.
