About Rabiplus-Ls Capsule
Rabiplus-Ls Capsule is a combination medication, primarily used for treating ulcerative GERD. It is also prescribed for erosive healing, maintenance of ulcerative GERD, duodenal ulcers, irritable bowel syndrome and chronic gastritis. Recently, it has also come to be used in the treatment of hypersecretory conditions that include Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.
On using Rabiplus-Ls Capsule the associated side effects that you may suffer from are disorientation, delirium, the elevation of thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), rhabdomyolysis, bullous, erythema multiforme, drug-induced diarrhoea, twitching, tremor, weight gain or akathisia.
In certain severe cases, you may experience jaundice, interstitial pneumonia, tardive dyskinesia, gynecomastia (a disorder of the endocrine system where there is an enlargement of the male breast size). In the latter case it will be necessary for you to seek medical attention.
Before using this medication it is advised that you consult your doctor and tell him/her if you had/have or are:
- Pregnant, or are planning to become pregnant.
- Nursing a baby
- Taking any prescriptive or over the counter drugs, herbals medications or dietary supplements.

How does this medication work?
This medicine is a combination of Levosulpiride and Rabeprazole. These two belongs to neuroleptic and PPI class respectively. Thus this medicine works via the dual mechanism.
Firstly, it works by selectively binding to dopamine receptors in the brain and the periphery. This action results in an increased tone of muscles in the gastrointestinal tract. Secondly, it binds to H+/K+-exchanging ATPase in gastric parietal cells, resulting in blockage of acid secretion.
