About Doran-O Tablet

Doran-O Tablet is primarily prescribed to the patient suffering from symptoms like indigestion, irritation, stomach pain or heartburn. It works by reducing acid production in the stomach.

It is also used as short-term (4-8 weeks) treatment of severe erosive esophagitis (grade 2 or above), diagnosed by endoscopy and short-term treatment of symptomatic gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) poorly responsive to customary medical treatment

This medication belongs to the antiemetics drug group. It is used for treating nausea as well as vomiting, caused by other medical treatments such as surgery, chemotherapy and radiation. This medication will block the chemical serotonin from releasing in your gut and your central nervous system. It will prevent vomiting and nausea.

You can take it with food or without food. This medication can be used alone as well as in a combination with other medicines for preventing vomiting and nausea that one experiences after a surgery, chemotherapy or radiation session.

The side effects of this tablet include dizziness, drowsiness, diarrhea, constipation and headache. These side effects are usually mild and go away in a few days or 1-2 weeks. You can consult your doctor if these symptoms remain for a long time. There are some serious side effects that this medication may have, which would require immediate medical supervision. They include:

  • Stiffness of the muscle / muscle spasms
  • Blurred vision or loss of vision temporarily
  • Fast heartbeat and sweating
  • Headache, accompanied with chest pain and a feeling of dizziness
  • Yellowing of the eyes or the skin
  • Hallucinating

    This medication works by blocking 5-HT3 receptors peripherally on vagal nerve terminals and centrally in the chemoreceptor trigger zone. Also, it binds to H+/K+-exchanging ATPase in gastric parietal cells, resulting in blockage of acid secretion.

        Carbamazepine

        Phenytoin

        Cyclophosphamide
