About Concor 5 MG Tablet

Concor 5 MG Tablet helps in controlling the health conditions like hypertension and angina. Known to be a cardio-selective β1 adrenergic agent, it blocks the action of a few naturally occurring chemicals in the body.

It also helps in the prevention of heart failure and myocardial infarction (MI). The drug should only be taken as per the prescribed dose. It has certain side effects that a patient should be aware of.

This medicine is meant for oral consumption and its dosage may vary from 5 mg to 10 mg and 20 mg in some cases. Patients should inform their doctor about the medication that they are currently taking. This is primarily because some medicines, like that of diabetes interfere with the action of this medication.

Patients should also mention if they suffer from any other health issues like kidney or liver problems, slow heartbeat, diabetes, thyroid, asthma or hardened arteries as consumption of the drug may lead to severe complications in such cases.

It is not recommended for expecting or breastfeeding mothers too. If a patient is taking this medicine, he should avoid driving or drive very carefully as the drug can cause confusion and dizzy spells. Fast movement should also be avoided as it can cause dizziness.

Take exactly as directed. Do not increase, decrease, or adjust dosage without consulting the prescriber. Do not take with antacids and do not use alcohol or OTC medications (eg, cold remedies) without consulting the prescriber.

If diabetic, monitor serum sugars closely (may alter glucose tolerance or mask signs of hypoglycemia). May cause fatigue, dizziness, or postural hypotension; use caution when changing position from lying or sitting to standing, or when driving or climbing stairs until response to medication is known.

May cause alteration in sexual performance (reversible). Report palpitations, unresolved swelling of extremities, difficulty breathing or new cough, unresolved fatigue, unusual weight gain, unresolved constipation, or unusual muscle weakness.
