About Alkof Cofgel Tablet

Alkof tablet is composed of Dextromethorphan, Chlorpheniramine, Guaifenesin and Bromhexine. This drug is cough suppressant used for treating cough that is caused by asthma, smoking and emphysema. It affects the signals in the brain that trigger cough reflex.

Ask a doctor about using this medication if you have chronic bronchitis or emphysema. This medicine is not recommended for children younger than 4 years of age.

The dosage for adults and children are different depending on the intensity of the cough. The amount and frequency of the dose will be prescribed by your doctor. It is advised not to take a lower and higher amount of this drug for longer than prescribed otherwise it will increase the risk of side effects.
