The word ‘acupressure’ when broken down means needle (acu) and heaviness (pressure). It has its roots in the bodywork technique of medicine originating in traditional Chinese. It is similar to acupuncture when it comes to the basic ideas.

It includes applying physical pressure by the application of the hands, elbows and the use of different devices at various pressure points located on different parts of the human body. Acupressure works by stimulating the various points of the body. Energy travels through channels in the body that are known as meridians. There are certain acupressure wristbands available that relieves the often regular symptoms of nausea or motion sickness. Acupressure helps to heal various kinds of disorders and pain and also relaxes the body.

How Can Acupressure Treat Psychological Ailments?

  1. Starting the day with a few acupressure routines while you are lying in bed itself will be extremely beneficial in bringing together your energy and help it to fuel your body for the entire day.
