Rotane Forte Tablet is specifically used to treat gastric disorders especially ulcers, acid reflux and excessive erosion of the oesophagus by gastric acid secretion. It may be classified as an antacid, ant-reflux or anti-ulcerant drug

The dosage depends upon the age, weight, medical history of the patient, health conditions and the response to the therapy.

Most of the drugs are contraindicated in patients who have suffered or are suffering from cardiac disorders, lungs or liver disorders or renal malfunctioning. In such cases, immense precaution is required in the determination of the dosage. Take proper medical help in case you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy any time soon or breastfeeding. You must also inform the doctor of any other prescription drugs that you may be taking, such as hormonal pills as oral contraceptives, or any dietary supplements as Rotane Forte Tablet may interact with the other drugs and cause a number of health complications.     Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effect on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. Please consult your doctor.

  • Is it safe to drive while on this medicine?

    There is no interaction between driving and consuming this drug. So dose alteration is not needed.

    Caution to be advised in patients with impaired renal function as it is excreted through the urine.
  • Does this affect liver function?

    Precaution should be taken in patients with underlying liver disease as this drug is metabolized in the liver.
  • Are there any missed dose instructions?

    If you miss a dose of Roxatidine, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Rotane Forte Tablet blocks histamine secretion. It curbs the production of acid by parietal cells and digestive acids. This drug prevents the histamine from binding on parietal cell H2 receptors, thereby controlling the symptoms of gastrointestinal disorders.
