Pcod is a treatable not a curable disease. Hence it's better to continue with metformin as much as possible to keep it in control. There are no severe side effects nor does it affect children. Along with the metformin, I would also recommend a healthy lifestyle and diet and also getting your thyroid levels checked.

Dear lybrate-user, try taking it before 15 min before food because the drug works better that way. If it cause symptoms of gastritis such as fullness and burning sensation in the upper abdomen change timing to after food

Hello, Thanks for the query. I have seen the details mentioned. However, either with Glycomet Trio or with Glitaray M edema is unlikely side effect. Only when Pioglitazone is taken there is a possibility of swelling of lower limbs possible. So I am a bit surprised o know that such a side effect is seen in you. Please check your BP and kidney function, because the cause for swelling could be different. There is no mention of how blood glucose is controlled. That is equally important. Thanks.

Hello, thanks for the query. From the details given you are on tablet glycomet trio 2 and tablet remogliflozin 100 mg. Post dinner glucose goes up 190 - 200 mg is fine. That can be effectively controlled by reducing the intake of carbohydrates like chapati or rice and other crbs in the diet. There is no reason to add any further drugs. Invariably we tend to eat more than what we need. So slight reduction in carbs, substituted by green leafy vegetables and items like curds or fruits will help. What is your hba1c%? If that is well controlled (< 6.5%, considering your age, then the control is good. Even increasing the daily physical activity will help in reducing blood glucose. If you have any questions please do come back. Thanks.

Hello, Thanks for the query. Madam, I have seen the details mentioned. Please understand diabetes is a condition that comes because of 1)Lack of Insulin secretion from your pancreatin beta cells, 2) There is Insulin resistance due to presence of excess body fat 3) Even if Insulin is available in excess due to resistance to its action blood glucose increases. In such situation only option is to - take drugs that are able to increase Insulin secretion, reduce insulin resistance and improve insulin effectiveness. All these effects are possible with only specific modern medicines. So called alternate medical therapies are not showing any specific effects. Further you have not mentioned anything about present fasting, PP glucose levels and HbA1c%, lipid profile, dietary pattern, weight, height and extent of daily exercise, so it is difficult to comment any further. Madam, sirf modern medicines hi aap ko mada karsakati hai. Lekin aap ko inko band karke aur koi dava leni hai to aap ki marji. Thanks.

Hello, Thanks for the query. I have seen the query. From the details I understand that she has diabetes (whether controlled or not is not mentioned as no glucose levels are given or HbA1c% is mentioned), there is no mention of any infection so I am unable to find out why antibiotic has been prescribed. Similarly is there any acidity issue with her? Because Famotidine is prescribed. Unless these details are there I can not advise anything. However, if there is no infection then there is no need for antibiotic. Jaundice is not because of any infection. If you have any questions please do come back. Thanks.

1. Take home cooked, fresh light food. Take a lot of green vegetables n fruit. 2. Increasing the fibre in your diet is known to be as effective as injections for preventing further problems 3. Increasing your fluid intake which can help prevent further problems with haemorrhoids 4. Avoiding straining and constipation which is the most useful thing patients can do to prevent the problem coming back. If the fibre content of your diet is not sufficient to keep your stools soft, then a fibre supplement can help. 5. Maintain active life style 6. Curd is good for u. 7. Avoid fast foods, spicy n fried foods Homeopathy has very encouraging results. Consult online with details

Dear lybrate-user, it looks like your mother has advanced kidney problem probably due to long-standing diabetes. She needs to be on a diet with low carbohydrate, protein 30-40 gm, restriction of fruits and fruit juices and restriction of salt intake to about 4 grams per da. She should avoid all medicines that can cause kidney damage such as pain killers and some antibioitcs like gentamycina nd amikacin only paracetamol is allowed for pain relief the medicines she is taking contains metformin which is contra-indicated if her serum creatinine is high this medicine may also be contributing to her loose motions (diarrhoea) we also need to know if she has eye problem requiring laser treatment or heart problems requiring stenting or cabg (open heart surgery). We need to know her current serum creatinine level, albumin level urine protein/creatinine ratio, serum ca phosphorus and lft results in order to help. It may be better to seek a proper consultation to effectively sort out the problems
