About Pancuronium Bromide 2Mg Injection

Pancuronium Bromide 2Mg Injection is mainly a muscle relaxant drug. It is an aminosteroid and a non-depolarizing agent. The drug is extremely potent and lethal doses of this injection can be used for the purpose of euthanasia after administering sodium thiopental to induce the state of comatose. The other uses include general anaesthesia or to assist in ventilation or intubation of patients. The drug is not known to have sedative or tranquilizing effects. The drug can also be termed as a neuromuscular inhibitor.

The adverse reactions to this drug may include changes in the pulse rate, fluctuations in the blood pressure, skin rashes or hives, onset of bronchospasm due to the release of histamine, wheezing and difficulty in respiration, excessive sweating leading to dehydration or excessive salivation. The medicine should be injected in a clinic only by trained medical experts, who are well aware of the patient’s medical history, the characteristic features of the drug.

This medicine generally does not pose any fatal risk or health complications to the foetus and may be administered to pregnant women after due consultation and diagnosis by the doctor. It is important to continuously monitor the muscle twitch response. The medicine generally takes a maximum of 3-4 minutes to start its action.
