About Fluocinolone

Fluocinolone is a topical corticosteroid. It is used to treat the dryness, itching, inflammation, redness, crusting, scaling and discomfort of various skin conditions like eczema, dermatitis, allergies and rash.

Before taking this medicine, inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding, if you have allergies to medicines, foods, or other substances, measles, chickenpox, tuberculosis, hardening or thinning of the skin or a skin infection or if you have been recently been vaccinated. The common side effects of this drug can include skin problems such as drying, cracking, burning, itching and lightening of skin colour, acne, severe skin rash, difficulty breathing or swallowing, wheezing or signs of skin infections like swelling, redness or oozing pus.

Fluocinolone is available in various forms like shampoo, ointment, solution, cream and oil. It’s a topical medication, which means it’s applied to the skin. It usually is applied two to four times a day, as recommended by the doctor.
