Rabies immunoglobulin (RIG) is a medication made up of antibodies against the rabies virus. Rabies is a serious disease caused by a virus. Rabies is a disease of animals. Humans get rabies when they are bitten by an infected animal. There may be no symptoms at first, but weeks or even years after a bite from an infected animal, rabies can cause pain, fatigue, headaches, irritability, fever, seizures, hallucinations, and paralysis. Rabies can be fatal.
Rabies human diploid cell vaccine is used to prevent rabies in people who have been bitten by an animal (post-exposure) or otherwise may be exposed to the rabies virus (pre-exposure).
Side Effects :
- very high fever (above 104 degrees)
- weakness or prickly feeling in your fingers or toes; or
- problems with balance or eye movement, trouble speaking or swallowing.

- nausea, stomach pain.
You should not receive this vaccine if you have ever had a life threatening allergic reaction to a rabies vaccine.the full dose of Rabies Immune Globulin (Human) (RIG) should be thoroughly infiltrated in the area around and into the wounds. Any remaining volume should be injected intramuscularly at a site distant from vaccine administration.
