About Dermi 5 Cream

Dermi 5 Cream is a composition containing very strong steroids in it with a very high potency along with an antibacterial, antiprotozoal and antifungal drug in combination. It reduces the actions of chemicals in the body that cause inflammation.

It is used to treat inflammation, redness and itching that can be caused by a number of skin conditions. These include eczema, allergic reactions, dermatitis, rashes and psoriasis.

This medication works by treating the dermatoses and by activating the production of a glycoprotein called lipocortin. It contains Clobetasol, Gentamicin, Clotrimazole, Clioquinol, Tolnaftate as the active ingredients.

A thin film of cream or ointment is effective; do not overuse; do not use tight-fitting diapers or plastic pants on children being treated in the diaper area.

use only as prescribed and for no longer than the period prescribed; apply sparingly in light film; rub in lightly; avoid contact with eyes. Notify physician if condition being treated persists or worsens.

For external use only; do not use on open wounds; apply sparingly to occlusive dressings; should not be used in the presence of open or weeping lesions; do not use occlusive dressings with foam unless directed by healthcare provider.

    How does this medication work?

    Dermi 5 Cream belongs to corticosteroids. It works as an anti-inflammatory by inhibiting the metabolism of arachidonic acid by inhibiting phospholipase A2 thus inhibits the production of inflammatory mediators like prostaglandins and leukotrienes. This medicine also inhibits certain enzymes and also prevents DNA replication and binds to phospholipids in the fungal cell membrane and alters it''s permeability. Lastly, it works by binding to the 30S subunit of the bacterial ribosomes thus inhibits the protein synthesis in the bacteria and stops the growth of the bacteria.
