About Coligo 40Mg Drop

A antispasmodic, Coligo 40Mg Drop is used for the treatment of a certain type of intestinal problem called irritable bowels syndrome. It reduces the symptoms of intestinal and stomach cramping. This medicine works by slowing down the natural movements of the gut and by relaxing the stomach and intestine muscles.

This medication must not be used in children younger than 6 months old and in women who are pregnant or breastfeeding. Before using this medication, inform your doctor if you have a history of glaucoma, enlarged prostate, urination problems, high blood pressure, nervous system problems, myasthenia gravis, liver, heart, thyroid, intestinal or kidney problems.

This medicine can cause a range of anticholinergic side effects such as dizziness, weakness, dry eyes, blurred vision, dry mouth and abdominal bloating, and, at higher doses, serious effects like decreased sweating, flushed skin, irregular heartbeat, slurred speech, loss of coordination, mood changes, difficulty urinating and decreased sexual ability.

The medication is to be taken by mouth, with or without food as instructed by your doctor, usually 4 times a day. The dosage is based on your age, medical condition, and your response to the medicine. Your doctor may direct you to start this medication at a low dose and gradually increase your dose to decrease the risk of side effects.
