About Advent Forte 400 mg/57 mg Dry Syrup

As a penicillin antibiotic, this syrup treats bacterial infections. It interferes with the synthesis of cell wall in a bacteria and stops it from growing. It is used to treat infections of the lungs and airways, skin, middle ear, sinuses, and the urinary tract. It also treats conditions like tonsillitis, pneumonia, bronchitis and gonorrhoea. This syrup when used with an antibiotic clarithromycin, it treats stomach ulcers.

You should not use this tablet if you are allergic to any penicillin based antibiotic. This medicine can make birth control pills less effective so ask your doctor about using non hormonal birth control to prevent pregnancy during the treatment. Tell your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby as it may cause harm to the baby.

    This syrup works via a dual mechanism and includes medicine Amoxycillin and Clavulanic Acid. It is used for the treatment of bacterial infection. Amoxycillin is a Penicillin antibiotic and inhibits the transfer of a peptide group in the transpeptidation process. As a result, the bacterium is not able to build cell walls and is killed. Clavulanic Acid works as a beta-lactamase inhibitor by binding to beta-lactamase enzyme produced by bacterial cells, which in turn inhibits its enzymatic action and prevents beta-lactam antibiotics from being metabolized by the enzyme.
