Alex Syrup

এই ওষুধটি হল কাশি দমনকারী যা কাশির চিকিত্সার জন্য ব্যবহৃত হয়। এই ধরনের কাশি হাঁপানি বা অ্যাজমা, ধূমপান এবং এম্ফিসেমা দ্বারা সৃষ্টি হয়। এটি মস্তিষ্কের মধ্যে সংকেতগুলিকে প্রভাবিত করে কাজ করে যা কাশির উদ্দীপনাকে বাড়াতে করে।

আপনার যদি ক্রনিক বা দীর্ঘকাল ধরে ব্রঙ্কাইটিস থাকে বা এম্ফিসেমা থাকে তাহলে এই সিরাপটির ব্যবহার করার বিষয়ে আপনার চিকিৎসকের কাছে জিজ্ঞাসা করুন। চিকিৎসার গত ১৪ দিনের মধ্যে আপনি যদি কোনও MAO ইনহিবিটার ব্যবহার করেন বা ব্যবহার করেছেন তবে এই সিরাপটি আপনি ব্যবহার করবেন না। এই ওষুধটি ৪ বছরের কম বয়সী বাচ্চাদের জন্য সুপারিশ করা হয় না।

এই ওষুধের সুবিধার পাশাপাশি ওষুধটি কিছু পার্শ্বপ্রতিক্রিয়াও সৃষ্টি করে। কিছু বিরল ক্ষেত্রে যে পার্শ্ব প্রতিক্রিয়াগুলি লক্ষ্য করা যায় তা হল তীব্র মাথা ঘোরা, উদ্বেগ, পেট খারাপ, অস্থির অনুভূতি, নার্ভাসনেস বা স্নায়বিক দুর্বলাবস্থা, বিভ্রান্তি, হ্যালুসিনেশন, ধীর এবং অগভীর শ্বাস।

বড়দের এবং শিশুদের জন্য এই ওষুধের ডোজ কাশির তীব্রতার উপর নির্ভর করে। ওষুধের ডোজের পরিমাণ এবং ওষুধ নেওয়ার সময়কাল আপনার ডাক্তারের দ্বারা নির্ধারণ করা হয়। আপনার শরীরের জন্য নির্ধারণ করে দেওয়া ডোজের থেকে এই সিরাপটি বেশী সময় ধরে বা বেশী পরিমাণে গ্রহণ করবেন না। তাহলে সেক্ষেত্রে ওষুধটি আপনার শরীরের অবস্থা ভালো করে তোলার থেকে পার্শ্ব প্রতিক্রিয়াগুলির ঝুঁকিকে বাড়িয়ে তুলবে।

  ওষুধটি অ্যালকোহলের সাথে মিথষ্ক্রি‌য়া করে অতিরিক্ত তন্দ্রা এবং শান্ততা সৃষ্টি করতে পারে।

Alex Syrup works as a decongestant by suppressing the nervous system and the part of your brain which is responsible for coughing. It does not really thin the mucus, but certainly provides relief. This drug binds to the histamine H1 receptor, which prevents the action from endogenous histamine and also reduces adhesiveness and surface tension of congealed mucous in upper respiratory tract to increase flow of mucous, stimulating and increasing efficiency of the cilia to remove the accumulated mucous.
