About Revelol-Am 50/5 Tablet

This is a combination medication which has Amlodipine and Metoprolol as active ingredients. It acts as a calcium channel blocker that improves blood flow by dilating blood vessels. This medication is used to treat angina, high blood pressure, and coronary heart disease. It is recommended in case of heart failure if other medications fail to work.

It is oftentimes used in combination with other antihypertensive and anti-anginal medicines. If you miss a dose then take the next dose as soon as possible. If it is nearly time for the next one, then you should skip the missed dose.

    How does this medication work?

    This medication is a calcium channel blockers. It works by inhibiting the entry of calcium into the cardiac and vascular smooth muscles and prevents the contraction of the muscles and thereby reduces the blood pressure. Metoprolol blocks beta receptors sites in the heart, blood vessels, and lungs. This results in inhibition of epinephrine resulting in relaxed blood vessels. Thus pressure is lowered and blood flow to the heart is improved.
