About Naratriptan

Naratriptan is used to relieve the symptoms of migraine. It helps to treat headaches, pain, and all other symptoms of migraine, including dizziness, nausea, vomiting, and sensitivity to bright light or loud sounds. While this medicine relieves you of the symptoms of migraine, it does not reduce the frequency of your headaches or prevent you from experiencing migraine attacks in the future. This medicine is administered orally and is available in the form of tablets.

You should take a tablet at the first indication of a migraine attack. Do not overdose on this medicine, or use it to prevent a migraine from occurring. You may take a second dose after 4 hours, or an interval recommended by your doctor, if the first dose of Naratriptan is ineffective, or effective only partially. Side effects of this drug include sensations of tingling or numbness or prickling or sudden heat, flushes, drowsiness and sudden dizziness. Inform your doctor immediately if these symptoms intensify or appear to persist over a long period of time.

Naratriptan functions by constricting certain blood vessels. Hence, it may cause high blood pressure. It is certainly advisable to check your blood pressure frequently and regularly while using this medication.
