Itchy skin is a condition that arises when there are rashes in the skin, redness in the skin and dermatitis. Itching in the body is caused when a chemical known as histamine is released in the body. It is a type of the sensation in the body that leads to the relflex to scratch. The itching in the skin is caused due to the allergies, certain infections, environmental factors, derangements. Itching can also cause the pain in the skin. You should visit sn dermatologist when you suffer from the itchy skin for a long time. The symptoms of itchy skin are scaly patches, redness, spots, marks of scratches, dry skin, blisters etc. The main cause of itchy skin are disorder of the nerves, irritation in the skin, xerosis, scabies etc. You should visit the doctor if your skin becomes damaged due to the itching, if the itching doesn't stop for a long time.

The home remedies for treating the itchy skin are as follows:

  • Baking soda:- Baking soda is used for the treatment of the itchy skin. It is believed that baking soda has some antifungal properties. It is used in curing the fungal situation which in turn leads to the itchy skin. In order to get rid of the itchy skin, you can use baking soda to the areas where you're having itching
  • Using menthol:- Menthol is used in curing the itchy skin. Menthol is the oil found in the family of the mint plants. You can apply menthol in the itchy areas of the skin in order to get relief from itching
  • Eat the oats:- Oats are considered the best remedy in order to get relief from the itchy skin. Colloidal oats are made by grinding the grains of the oats into a powder. These oatmeals are dissolved in the water and is finely grinded oatmeals. These oatmeals are used in reducing the irritation of the skin and also prevent the itchy skin
  • Avoiding irritants:- In order to get relief from the itchy skin, try to avoid the irritants as much as possible. Some of the irritants that should be avoided are skincare products of the fragrance, hot water, changes in the temperature, synthetic and wool fibres etc.
  • Use apple cider vinegar:- Apple cider vinegar is made using acetic acid. Apple cider vinegar is regarded as the antiseptic for the skin. Apple cider vinegar is used in curing the itchy skin. Mix the apple cider vinegar along with the water and then apply on the itchy area. It helps in curing the itchy areas
  • Apply ice to the itchy areas:- Ice also helps in curing the itchy areas. Apply ice to the itchy areas. When the itchy areas will become cool, then automatically the itching stops
  • Use the moisturizer:- Moisturizer helps in curing the itchy areas. You can mositurize your skin by using the different types of mositurizers. There are various moisturizer and creams which are used in curing the itchy skin. The moisturizer and creams provides relaxation to the itchy skin.
