I am 20 weeks pregnant. I had an ultrasound at 16 weeks and at that time my amniotic fluid index was 12. And I had another ultrasound at 20 weeks yesterday. And right now my amniotic fluid index was 8.5 cms. My scan report is normal. Baby kidneys are normal. Baby is healthy and movements are good. What my amniotic fluid reduced? Is there any chance to miscarriage? Will it increase?
Your AFI is less. It is difficult to pinpoint the exact cause of the same unless you have some precipitating factors like pregnancy induced hypertension. Drinking plenty of fluids and repeated followup is required.
