I have a sex exposure. And I was ver worried. An d started doing google search I have taken a hiv duo test (ELFA method) in Chennai at 44 days from the exposure. The result was non-reactive, but no value was mentioned. Then at 140th day I have taken hiv duo (cmia method) on another lab in Chennai (lister metro polis) The result was non-reactive and index value was 0.15. Labbpersons told both are 4th gen tests. So are these treatable and reliable? And conclusive? Do I require any other tests? Seeking your advice please?
Reliable, for practical purposes you can keep same out of mind. However you have tested only for HIV and sex exposure can transmit other diseases also so you may consult venereologist for other tests.
