This tablet belongs to the third generation cephalosporins. It works as a bactericidal by binding to the penicillin-binding proteins and inhibits the bacterial cell wall synthesis. This medication also inhibits protein synthesis by binding itself to 50S ribosomal subunits of the sensitive micro-organism. It infringes with transpeptidation and translocation and thus inhibits protein synthesis and cell growth.
