About Omee D 10 mg/20 mg Capsule

Omee D Capsule is indicated for treating GERD (Gastro-esophageal reflux disease), which does not respond to Omeprazole medications alone. It prevents the tendency of vomiting and nausea in people suffering from gastrointestinal problems.

Omee D 10 mg/20 mg Capsule is a combination of Domperidone and Omeprazole. The active ingredients fall under the class of dopamine antagonist and PPI (Proton pump inhibitor), respectively.

Omee D Capsule is also prescribed to the patients of peptic ulcer and who take certain medicines for Parkinson’s disease. The medicine tightens the muscles near the entrance of the stomach and relaxes the ones present at the exit.

The action of this medication helps to speed up the passing of the food that you intake - from your stomach to your intestine, reducing the feeling of nausea and sickness, also preventing vomiting.

Omee D medicine also works by blocking or reducing the stimulation in the ‘vomiting centre’ of your brain, which will eventually reduce the feeling of nausea and vomiting. The possible side effects of taking this medication can be headache, migraine, dryness of the mouth or breast pain.

You are advised not to take Omee D 10 mg/20 mg Capsule if you have the following conditions:

  • An allergy to Omee D 10 mg/20 mg Capsule or any other ingredient of this medicine
  • Bleeding problems or blockage in your stomach or in the intestine
  • Tumour in the pituitary gland
  • Cardiac disease
  • Incorrect levels of magnesium, potassium or calcium in the blood
  • Severe /moderate liver impairment

Symptoms of overdose include hypothermia, sedation, convulsions, decreased respiratory rate demonstrated in animals only. Treatment is supportive; not dialyzable.

        Concomitant use of Antiretrovirals, warfarin, methotrexate, digoxin, Drugs Dependent on Gastric pH for Absorption (e.g., iron salts, erlotinib, dasatinib, nilotinib, mycophenolate mofetil, ketoconazole, itraconazole), tacrolimus, antiarrhythmics, apomorphine, protease inhibitors, systemic azole antifungals, some macrolides (erythromycin, clarithromycin and telithromycin) is contraindicated.

        • Kidney Disease: This medication should be used with caution if you are suffering from impaired kidney function. Suitable dose adjustment and safety monitoring is advised, especially if the impairment is severe.
        • Liver Disease: This medicine should be used with caution if you are suffering from impaired liver function. Suitable dose adjustment and safety monitoring are advised, especially if the impairment is mild to moderate. For severe impairment, the use of this medicine is not recommended.
        • Intestinal Disorders: This medication should be used with extreme caution in people having serious intestinal problems like internal bleeding, an obstruction or perforation of the stomach and intestine. Use of alternate medicine is advised in such cases.

        Omee D Capsule is safe to be consumed with food. There are no studies that say that this medicine reacts adversely with food.
