Glucoptic 0.5% W/V Eye Drop, belongs to the group of drugs known as beta blockers. It is usually used to treat high blood pressure and glaucoma. It works by effectively blocking the action of chemicals in the body such as epinephrine, and thereby helping to lower the blood pressure.

Glucoptic 0.5% W/V Eye Drop is not to be used if you are allergic to any of its ingredients, or if you suffer from a serious heart ailment such as a slow heartbeat or severe cardiac blockage. You must alert the doctor to all current medication, prescription or non-prescription, which you are on such as oral beta blockers or dietary supplements. Intake of other drugs such as insulin, clonidine and reserpine may have adverse effects.

For glaucoma, Glucoptic 0.5% W/V Eye Drop may be taken in the form of eye drops, while for the reduction of high blood pressure, it may be taken orally, daily, as prescribed by your doctor.
