Dinosin 100Mg Tablet is a reverse transcriptase inhibitor. It is used along with other highly active anti-retroviral drugs to treat patients diagnosed with HIV/AIDS. It functions by inhibiting the growth of the virus. The medicine is to be administered orally. It comes in the form of tablets for adults and children that are capable of swallowing it, and in the form of a powder, to be made into an oral solution for children aged two weeks or older.

This medicine must be taken on an empty stomach. The recommended dosage will vary with a lot of factors, such as the severity of your condition. Keep in mind that while this medication will not cure HIV/AIDS, it will definitely help you live a longer and healthier life.

Serious adverse effects of the medicine include inflammation of the pancreas, liver disorders and build up of lactic acid in the body. Its intracellular metabolism converts it into dideoxyadenosine triphosphate (ddATP) responsible for inhibiting HIV reverse transcriptase enzyme. The inhibitory action of ddATP competes with that of natural dATP. The drug terminates viral DNA growth by incorporating itself in the viral DNA.
