Your Dr. probably did not mean BENIQ, just illegible or typo. Benidipine 8 is very similar to amlodipine 5. These medicines are generally preferred for older people.

I was prescribed and taking seloken xl50 and Beni pack 4. Now Beni pack 4 is not available in market. Can I now take Inzit 4 instead of Beni pack 4? Please advise.

Hello, Thanks for your query on Lybrate "As" per your clinical history is concerned do take medication as usual and take lifestyle modification like this and it is very important for you. 1)Eat healthy foods. Try the Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension (DASH) diet, which emphasizes fruits, vegetables, whole grains and low-fat dairy foods. Get plenty of potassium, which can help prevent and control high blood pressure. Eat less saturated fat and total fat.Consult with your dietician to make a chart. 2)Try to decrease the salt in your diet. 3)Try to maintain a healthy weight. If you're overweight, losing even 3 kilograms can lower your blood pressure. 4)Try to increase physical activity. Regular physical activity can help lower your blood pressure and keep your weight under control. Strive for at least 30 minutes of physical activity a day. 5)Limit alcohol. Even if you're healthy, alcohol can raise your blood pressure. If you choose to drink alcohol, do so in moderation. 6)Don't smoke. Tobacco injures blood vessel walls and speeds up the process of hardening of the arteries. 7)Manage stress. Reduce stress as much as possible. Practice healthy coping techniques, such as muscle relaxation and deep breathing. Getting plenty of sleep. 8)Monitor your blood pressure at home. Home blood pressure monitoring can help you keep closer tabs on your blood pressure, show if medication is working, and even alert you and your doctor to potential complications. Hope that helps
