About Amineptine

The main use of Amineptine is in treating patients with depression. Endogenous depression is more likely to be cured by this medication than other depressive states. This medicine is also used to treat chronic pain, such as headaches caused by migraine, tension, panic attacks, eating disorders, joint pain, arthritis and neuropathy.

This medication is contraindicated to lactating women and to individuals suffering from severe liver damage, cardiac arrhythmias, porphyria, and severe manic disease. Possible adverse effects of this medication include dry mouth, sedation, problems during urination, blurred vision, tremors, excessive sweating, sexual dysfunction, behavioral disruptions, fluctuations in the levels of blood glucose, increased appetite, abrupt weight gain, enlargement of testicles in males, convulsions, sezures, movement disorders, blood disorders, and fever.

Do not take this medicine if you have had allergic reactions to it in the past. Notify your health care professional immediately if you observe symptoms of hypersensitivity.

Do not take this medication if you are using entacapone, sibutramine, artemether with lumefantrine, or brimonidine. The combination of any of these drugs with Amineptine could potentially turn out to be fatal. This drug is not for children below 12 years of age. Exercise caution with this medicine if you are pregnant.
