About Norflox 400 MG Tablet

Norflox 400 MG Tablet is used in the treatment of UTI (urinary tract infection) and is a combination of two compounds namely norfloxacin (anti-bacterial) and lactic acid bacillus (probiotic). This is a prescription drug and should be taken under medical supervision.

Some common side effects are Abdominal Cramping, Anorexia, Depression, Insomnia, Elevated Liver enzymes, Urea and Creatinine, Tendon Rupture, Acute Renal Failure, and Seizures.

Apart from being generally used in the treatment of UTI’s it is used in the treatment of Stomach Infections, Sexually Transmitted Diseases, and Other Infections. Even though it has a wide spectrum and can be used for various diseases its side effects should not be undermined.

One should avoid taking the drug for a prolonged period and extensively, as it can cause Muscle Weakness, induce Nervousness, Insomnia, and Palpation. You should also avoid physical activities and avoid going under the sun too much.

Consult your doctor if you develop Photosensitivity as it may make you Irritable and Anxious. You should be well hydrated at all times. If you are already under medication you should consult your doctor before you start with the medication as there is a high chance of the drug's interaction.

The drug also reacts with other drugs and produces various side effects. Some drugs to avoid are Dexamethasone, Glyburide, Prednisone, Probenecid, and Tacrine.

Symptoms of overdose include acute renal failure, seizures. Following GI decontamination, use supportive measures. Take complete prescription; do not skip doses. Do not take with antacids.

Take per recommended schedule, preferably on empty stomach (1 hour before or 2 hours after meals). Maintain adequate hydration (2-3 L/day of fluids unless instructed to restrict fluid intake).
