This medicament treats meningitis, cholera, plague and typhoid fever. It works by interfering with the growth of the bacteria causing the infection.

How does this medication work?
This medicament is an antibiotic which works by reversibly binding to the 50S subunit of the ribosomes of the bacterial cell. It interferes with the activity of peptidyl transferase which in turn inhibits protein synthesis in the bacterial cells by blocking peptide bond formations. Hydrocortisone acts as a corticosteroid used for reducing skin inflammation. Your body releases different chemicals in response to certain triggers. Hydrocortisone works by stopping the infection-fighting white blood cells from reaching the part of your body which is prone to infections.
