Many fad diets all over the internet promise instant results. But these crash diets can do irreversible damage to your health. If you want to lose weight, there are no short cuts; it can only be done with a healthy but strict diet, and exercise. But a few food items can expedite the process of weight loss.

What are negative calorie food items?

Too many calories are the culprit behind weight gain. Calories are the energy or fuel that makes our body and all its organs function. But, when you consume more calories than what your body needs, they are converted into fats and deposited in different parts of the body.

  3. Carrots: You need carrots not just for your metabolism but also for reducing your bad cholesterol. They don’t contain saturated fats which means it is beneficial for both your heart and weight. They contain only 40 calories per 100 grams.
     
  4. Tomatoes: They are a storehouse of fibres, potassium, and Vitamin C. They can even protect your skin from the harmful effects of UV Rays. They lower blood cholesterol levels and speed up metabolism. They contain 19 calories per 100 grams.
     
  5. Cucumbers: With merely 16 calories per 100 grams, they are your best friend when it comes to weight loss. They are chock a block with electrolytes, minerals and vitamins.
     
  6. Watermelon: This summer favourite fruit contains 30 calories in every 100 grams. They protect your heart, improve blood supply and help you lose weight.
     
  7. Apples: Apples are well known for their rich supply of fibres. This is a snack you can munch on anytime you want without feeling guilty. It is a sweet fruit but it does not release a burst of sugar at once but does so slowly over a period of time and this helps to regulate blood sugar levels. They contain 50 calories per 100 grams.

Calorie negative food items are the perfect tools to help with weight loss. Not only will they help you shed kilos but boost your health at the same time.
