I have developed rough patches of skin on one side (near thumb) of my index finger. Small patches have also developed on other fingers of both palms. These patches are hard and develop cracks over time. I guess that these are due to allergies to soap and handwash. But due to hygiene issue I can't avoid them. This is a chronic problem problem which keeps repeating. Please help.

Dear lybrate-user, you could be having hand eczema which is a chronic problem. Use very gentle soaps for hand washes and always moisturise your hands. Avoid any detergents as far as possible. Meanwhile, make it a point to see your dermatologist to get any medication prescribed.
