When it comes to weight/ fat loss it's all about being sensible with food. Eat small but frequent meals. Avoid long gaps in between meals. Avoid junk as far as possible. Exercise at least 4 times a week or whenever possible. Exercise should be anything that you enjoy and can manage to indulge in at least 3-5 times in a week consistently. It could be dancing football aerobics swimming yoga jogging or strength training. Consistency and right technique is important. Lastly be committed. Remember it's a lifestyle change and not a one time thing. It's a balanced intake that will last you longer. All the so called diets will only give you muscle and bone loss.

I'm a heavy drinker since 3-4 and I want to take a firm decision to quit it permanently. I don't have family members or friends to help me with it. I myself want to be strong enough to quit it, and don't want to get urged for drinking and do many things in life. Its only that I have had faced few circumstances in life which lead me to this habit, and I couldn't control my mind from having alcohol. I have taken a first step by this decision to quit, and need advice for further details.

Remove all reminders of alcohol from home such as empty bottles, ashtray etc. Try to avoid the place from where you used to purchase alcohol. Take a different route. Have a readymade answer if someone offers a drink. Do not fall into the trap of thinking I shall drink only 1 peg and no more. Do not try to challenge yourself or test your will power by being at a place where alcohol is being served and you try to resist. Confidence is good, over confidence is not. Do not hesitate to take medicines and therapy if you are unable to quit on your own. Let your friends know that you have quit. Announce it to others so that you now have a greater responsibility. If you do drink by mistake on a particular day, do not think all is lost and go back to old ways. Its okay and start afresh the next day. A lapse and relapse are not the same.
