Post pregnancy classes are highly recommended for women who have just delivered or had a baby. These are classes that one can take for both physical and mental wellness. A lot of women tend to suffer from a series of emotional problems post having a baby including postpartum depression. Alongside there is also the issue of weight gain that calls for exercising and including some physical activity in your routine. Ideally you should consult with your gynaecologist on when you should commence these classes. Based on the nature of your delivery i.e. cesarian or natural birth, your doctor would advise you on the same. The duration of these post pregnancy care classes usually ranges from 45 minutes to an hour. They are kept short to ensure that a mother is able to get the needed exercise along with interactive session. However, there are shorter 30-minute classes available too. They are usually done 4-5 times a week and continued for a period of 3-6 months. As mentioned above, health care after delivery is an important part of the recovery process. Along with exercises, women are able to do breathing exercises here along with yoga or Pilates. All of this helps them to feel rejuvenated and relaxed. Their sleeping patterns improve, they feel less tired and also are able to lose weight. The end result is that they are happier and healthier mums.
