About Timolol

Timolol is a beta-blocker. It treats open-angle glaucoma. It functions by controlling fluid over-production and pressure inside the eye thus preventing the chances of blindness. In combination with other medicines, it also helps in curing ocular hypertension. This medication can be taken both orally or as an eye-drop.

On using this drug, you may experience certain side-effects such as blurred vision, burning sensation of the eyes, drying of the eyes, headache, chest pain, mood swings, nausea, depression, fatigue, myalgia, arthralgia, dyspepsia, vomiting, nausea, etc.

Do not use this medication if you have any of the following condition:

  • Asthma
  • lung/ heart/ kidney/liver disorders
  • Decreased blood circulation to the brain
  • Myasthenia gravis
  • Diabetes
  • If you are taking any prescription or non-prescription drugs.
  • If you are pregnant or are planning to conceive.
