About Telplus 10 Mg/40 Mg Tablet

This medication is composed of Cilnidipine, Telmisartan and known to be channel blocker of calcium. It aids in treating high blood pressure. The drug stops the calcium activity on the blood vessels and the heart. As a result, there is an increase in the supply of blood to the heart. This, in turn, helps lower blood pressure as well as slows down the heart rate.

Moreover, the medicine effectively helps to reduce strain on the heart in case of a heart attack. In case of any severe reaction or side effect to this tablet, it is best that one should consult their doctor as soon as possible. This drug should not be taken unless it is prescribed by a doctor.

    How does this medication work?

    The medicine is a calcium channel blocker. It works by inhibiting the entry of calcium into the cardiac and vascular smooth muscles and prevents the contraction of the muscles and thereby reduces the blood pressure. The drug also displaces angiotensin II with very high affinity from its binding site at the AT1 receptor subtype, which is responsible for the known actions of angiotensin II.
