Hi, it's great that you are determined to work on your mental health issues. Psychotherapy along with medication, definitely helps and speeds up the process. There are many therapists who are providing online sessions these days. Even I do and you may choose to contact me. Sorry for your past experience. You might do some trial and error before you match up with a competent therapist of your choice. Don't loose faith in therapy then, just search more because good therapy do wonders. Take care.

I think there are other issues like obesity along with sleep issues. Obesity can lead to something called as obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (osas). It will not be benefitted by taking these above medications. Kindly consult a physician or psychiatrist and get your sleep evaluated with help of polysomnography (sleep study ). But, as a general measure I would suggest regular exercise / walking to reduce your weight and also practice sleep hygeine. Which you will get on google search. All the best.

Lonazep is clonazepam a benzo which should not be taken for such a ling time as it is addictive and causes long term side effects. Try to reduce the dose by half every 2 weeks and stop, if not possible consult a psychiatrist who will help in this regard. Good luck.

I have been taking lonazep md 0.25 for 6 months after covid. Now I want to leave it. Please advice how to do it. Thanks.
Do it slowly. Better to consult a psychiatrist in-person, near your place of living. One suggested way: break lonazep md (0.25) into 4 (almost) equal pieces (i know it is a very small tablet and pill breaker, easily available online for 30 to 60 rs can help). Take 3 parts (pieces) daily for 7 to 10 days, then take 2 parts daily for next 7 to 10 days, then take one part daily for next 7 to 10 days & then stop taking. In case you have moderate to severe recurrence of your anxiety, visit a nearest available psychiatrist.

Hello,

Anxiety disorders can have on and off symptoms. Previous dosages and duration of treatment are important before considering any change in medications or advise. You would need a detailed evaluation and assessment regarding underlying anxious and depressive cognitions. So, I would suggest a detailed evaluation by a psychiatrist before taking any further action.

Dear user I don’t know you tested after fasting or after eating, generally it’s 72-99 mg/99 (when fasting) and 140 2 hrs after eating. Fir more details you have to talk to me. When we are aware about our problem we are able to control but we have to control it in a proper way. You are too young and taking these tablets, it’s not good for your physical as well as your mental health. If you don’t want to take medication for life time then please wake up yourself, medicines are not a perfect solution for mental health, you have to work on your own, your will power, your mind and thoughts. But due to certain reasons if you are on antidepressants you have to take some extra care of yourself. I donã¢â€â™t know what are the circumstances under which you are taking medicines, I want to know the whole details about your disorder. But I must say donã¢â€â™t depend on the medicines and donã¢â€â™t make it a habit for future. You need counseling session for a better control on this disorder and medicines. Medicines are not the only solution, counseling is a best option for you so that you could better understand yourself and save yourself from the side effects of medicines. Please call and discuss your problem in detail and then iã¢â€â™ll be able to help you better. My contact no is mobile.

lybrate-user ji, thanks for the query. Lonazep is drug given to reduce anxiety related disorders plus also used in epilepsy. There is no mention of it causing hiccups in the literature. It may be a unique problem with your father. Hence if problem persists please ask the consulting doctor to change that drug. I hope his diabetes is in good control, because that is quite important as uncontrolled diabetes can increase his anxiety symptoms. Thanks.

I have anxiety and for lockdown my anxiety increased so much that I couldn't sleep and I even got indigestion and lost weight. Though I can manage food doctor prescribed me lonazep 0.25 mg for the lack of my sleep. I know it's an anxiety relieve tablet. As I am 18 years old he gave me this drug only for 5 days. It's my fourth day. But even after taking this tablet I am getting anxious sometime and couldn't sleep very well. Even after taking this medicine I couldn't sleep this fact makes me more anxious. I don't want to take anti anxiety pills in this age. Can you give me some suggestions how to get my normal sleep back naturally?

Dear lybrate-user, please learn jacobson's deep muscle relaxation and undergo therapy with a clinical psychologist. If you can manage your anxiety, you can sleep better. There are sleep hygiene methods to make you sleep. That also will be added to cognitive behaviour therapy for sleep disorder. It is a good idea that you decided not to take lonazep for long term.

You need to do counseling too. Anxiety has all to do with fear and your inability (or so you would tend to think) to handle the same. Fear is based on looking too much into the future and imagining things that usually do not tend to happen (usually 90% of your fears will not happen). You need to change your perception of the fearful stimulus then you can change your response to the fear. The first one is the best and will preempt the need for the second. If you are already far gone into the reaction mode, then you need both responses to counter the attack. The way we see things in life (like half empty or half full glass) is very dependent on our attitude. Attitude may have developed over many years but fortunately can change in a matter of sustained choices made and acted up on now. Accordingly, you choose to see things as either threatening or as an opportunity. The opportunist will be positive and work with the situation to make good out of it. The individual who sees it as threatening, will, out of fear, try to avoid/run away from the situation or react with anxiety. Yes, self-belief does impact it too, but you can see that prior to that, perception will tarnish the belief system too. Here, you can see that all the resolution lies in just changing your perception/attitude, even if it is against odds. Changing your response, despite the perception, is building up of your reserves and resources to handle any contingency that life throws up at you. And life throws up situations quite regularly and heavily. For this you need to develop a fit mind and body: the former, by meditation and mind exercises; and the later, by exercises and proper diet. You need good sleep too. Included in the development of the mind is the handling of emotions, in your case, fear. These changes will give you a handle on life and your perceptions and responses. Prayer is really powerful, if you are a spiritual person. Repeat some personally framed affirmations that are geared to calming you down and building confidence. Do a personality development course too. Anything that develops you personally will be of great assistance in building resilience.

All psychotropic drugs have side effects. If you focused instead on doing some therapy, you could well come out of the medication with little withdrawal symptoms. You must immediately seek help from a counselor. Your fear is creating an obsession and that will gradually lead to anxiety and compulsive behaviors. If the fear is of recent origin, you could perhaps identify it and deal with it. But if it is from the long past, then much work has to be done to sort that out. Sometimes this kind of nervousness could be genetic too. In the meantime you must do certain things to build your constitution physically, spiritually, emotionally, and mentally. Mental stability can be achieved by learning a few skills in handling emotions in an appropriate manner. Stress management skills, which have a lot to do with expressing emotions, will need to be a major part of your recovery program. Emotionally you need the help of a counselor and that will help you tremendously to move from anxiety to normal fear. Please persevere and cooperate through all the support you need and you will come through successfully. Develop your body’s health by physical fitness through exercise, good rest (sleep), and a proper diet. Any way what you need to focus on is to do vigorous exercise of the aerobic kind for the heart’s fitness; meditation for the brain’s fitness; sleep for a well rested mind and body; a sound spiritual well being for good confidence and stability; and a diet with lots of vegetables, fruits, and whole grains. Vigorous exercise, especially of the callisthenic kind, will make your heart, which is a muscle, grow larger; and then your heart will need to beat less often and you will respond to the anxiety with a calmer disposition. If your mind, constitution, and your emotions are in check and fit, you will never be disturbed again.
