Olmy tab is for high blood pressure. So if you have hypertension you should not skip that. Glucnorm and glycomet tabs both have same combinations. So there is not much of difference in side effects even if you change the drug. These tabs have glimepride which causes frequent hypoglycemia so that dizziness occurs. If you don't want that. You should update to a better tablet combination. Probably available with higher cost.

Hello, thanks for the query. I have seen the details mentioned. Sometimes it is seen that the tablet taken, particularly if it is sustained release or extended release type, then it does appear in the stools. But the medicine contained in it is almost utilised. Only the material used for making it remain for long time in the gut is coming out. There is no reason to worry at all. More importantly it is necessary to see that your blood glucose is maintained with in the specified limits like: fbg < 100 mg or closer to it. Pp 150 to 170 mg & hba1c% < 7% considering your age. Since there is no mention about that aspect in your details, no further comments or suggestions can be given. Usually if one is on same drug/s for a very long time, then effect wares off. So there may be a need to look at over all treatment which includes drugs, dietary pattern & extent of daily exercise. Therefore, if you have any questions please do come back. Thanks.

Hello, thanks for the query. I have seen the details mentioned. The glucose levels mentioned are a bit higher than ideally expected ones. Since there is no mention of hba1c%, it is difficult to comment on overall control. There are quite a few options that can be considered as additional drugs for improved control. But most important is to give a closer look at your dietary intake and daily exercise schedule. With a bmi (body mass index) of 2633 kg/sq meter, you are carrying an extra weight of almost 10 kg. If that is reduced by even 6 to 7 kg, the glucose levels will be better controlled. Thanks.

Hello, thanks for the query. I have seen the details mentioned. Your glucose levels seem to be in good control. As regards taking vitamin supplement there is no hard and fast rule. You can decide as you want. Usually because of dietary restriction vitamin & mineral supplements are advised. Hence, if there is a need then one needs to take regularly. Similarly one can take those occasionally too. Thanks.

You probably need to take insulin long-term to keep your sugars under control under the supervision of your doctor. In lean diabetics with very high blood sugars, insulin should be continued probably lifelong

Duration: 1 month existing medical issues: diabetes type ii general depression and anxiety, mood swings, aggressive mood current medications: etavone lotion tacrolimus ointment vitellius lotion note: he quit medication for diabetes a year ago (he's stubborn - I have no excuses for it), also could not confirm dosage previous medication: glucophage gp 1 (1 year ago - last medication he took for diabetes) glycomet sr 500 (3 years ago, first medication for diabetes that did not help much) vitamin b12 and d supplements drink, smoke, and/or recreational drugs use: none (never in his lifetime) other persisting symptoms (before the skin condition) and notes: joint pain lower abdominal pain lower back pain pain near lower right rib ("near liver") on applying pressure numbness/temporary paralysis in arms in the morning (on waking up) which goes away after massaging arm fatigue loss of interest in life, isolation from society, mood swings, aggression. Mr. lybrate-user, thanks for the query. I have seen the details given. There is no mention of his age, hba1c%, dietary pattern and extent of exercise being done by the patient. Before any suggestion can be made I need to know all the above plus bp readings, lipid profile, serum creatinine and urea. Usually once steroids are stopped, glucose levels which very very high due to that are likely to be comparatively better controlled. But it does take a few days. Stopping insulin suddenly is not advisable. My suggestion is please come with all the necessary information in a private conversation then I will be able to give specific guidelines as well as necessary prescription. In this communication we are supposed to give just general advise, no drugs can be prescribed. Thanks.
