Hello, thanks for the query. Madam most of the currently used drugs in treating diabetes are quite safe. Metformin is in use for over 60 years. Glimiperide is in use over 20 years and is very well tolerated. In fact more than the drugs it is the uncontrolled blood glucose level which is more dangerous, as it leads to setting in of long term complications associated with diabetes affecting a number of vital systems. So please look at achieving a strict glucose control than worrying about side effects of the drugs used for treatment. Thanks.

Krimson will not cure PCOD... it is just a temporary hiding of the symptoms with lots of side effects.. Better take proper homoeopathic treatment... if you want natural cure.

You should get your AVG sugar checked and fasting too then n then only your medicines could be adjusted. You should never increase or decrease your medication on your own as it might lead to major side effects.

Lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. With metformin there may be some side effects like the ones described. However, if taken after food, the drug is better tolerated. Since there is no mention of glucose levels & HbA1c%, there is no idea how good the glucose control is. Switching over to alternat therapies is your choice. There are no drugs that can reduce blood glucose or make pancreas secrete insulin in those therapies, even though a lot of false claims are made. Thanks.

Glyciphage containd metformin. Metformin is a widely prescribed drug for treating type 2 diabetes. Metformin is often the first medication that will be prescribed to people with type 2 diabetes. Metformin helps to lower blood glucose levels by reducing the amount of glucose produced and released by the liver, and by increasing insulin sensitivity. People with type 2 diabetes have blood sugar (glucose) levels that rise higher than normal. Metformin doesn't cure diabetes. Instead, it helps lower your blood sugar levels to a safe range Common side effects include: headache, muscle pain, weakness, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, gas, or. Stomach pain.

It requires a detailed evaluation as what might be the reason for the weight loss. A good nutritionist and your doctor (who is treating you) can coordinate and help you to take necessary steps. You need to go slow and don't push the limits of your endurance. Let the exercise be of mild to moderate level. You need not be strict with your diet but ensure that food is always healthy and nutritious and a balanced diet. Yoga (including pranayam and meditation) can be a better tool to bring harmony in the natural rhythm (including your metabolism ). Kindly read more about Diabetes and it's management from the internet and adapt the healthy habits.

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. Tablet Losanorm 25 is Losartan taken for controlling high blood pressure. Ecosprin is for avoiding platelet aggregation. For controlling blood glucose it appears only Glyciphage is being taken, if Jalra has been discontinued. The mentioned glucose levels are too high, suggesting totally uncontrolled diabetes. What is the HbA1c%? Ideally when blood glucose is well controlled fasting should be < 100 mg, PP 150 to 160 mg & HbA1c% < 6.8. So please consult your physician or diabetologist and see that a proper treatment is initiated. If not then you are inviting the serious long term complications of diabetes much earlier. Do not neglect. If you are interested in online consultation then may come in a private conversation with all the above details, plus BP readings, Lipid profile andextent of daily exercise and diet pattern. Then I will be able to help. Thanks.

Fasting bld sugar 109 does not require medication ,it requires only dietary restriction and regular exercises. Do regular exercises for 20-30 MTS daily ,eat a healthy balanced diet ,do not take food and drinks containing sugar ,take a carbohydrate and fat restricted diet ,eat small frequent meals, Get your hba1c done.
