Foracort Inhaler 200

Foracort inhaler is an inhaler belonging to the category of combination medicine. It is administered to patients to relieve symptoms of asthma, shortness of breath and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

It’s active ingredients are Formoterol and Budesonide. This is not suitable for you if you are less than 12 years of age.

• Are there any missed dose instructions?

  For doses of the medicine you have missed by mistake, it is recommended you take extra to make up. However, if you are due for your next dose, you may skip the missed dose. It is not advised that you use the inhaler in excessive amounts.

It has bronchodilatory properties and works by selectively binding to beta-2 adrenergic receptors in bronchial smooth muscles. This results in the activation of intracellular adenyl cyclase which catalyses the conversion of adenosine triphosphate (ATP) to cyclic-3',5'-adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) and leads to bronchodilation. It also works by inhibiting the release of multiple cell types (mast cells, eosinophils, neutrophils, macrophages, and lymphocytes) and mediators (histamine, eicosanoids, leukotrienes, and cytokines) that cause inflammation thus helps in the treatment of allergic disorders and reduces inflammation.
