Esiflo is used for preventing and controlling asthma symptoms and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease symptoms. These symptoms include shortness of breath, coughing, wheezing and chest tightness. It prevents breathing difficulties during exercise.

Avoid this medicine if you are allergic to it. Your dosage will be determined by the doctor based on your medical condition. If you miss a dose, use the medication as soon as you remember, then wait 12 hours before using the medication again. Skip the missed dose if it is almost time for your next scheduled dose.

Esiflo acts as a long-acting beta-2 adrenergic agonist. It works by stimulating the intracellular enzyme called adenylyl cyclase, which initiates the process of transformation of adenosine triphosphate (ATP) to cyclic 3’,5’-adenosine monophosphate (AMP). This relaxes the bronchial smooth muscle and inhibits the release of immediate hypersensitivity mediators from mast cells.
