Widely spaced teeth are teeth having large spaces between them. It can be a result of normal growth or continued growth of jawbone. Gum diseases, injury, acromegaly, morquio syndrome, or sanfilippo syndrome can cause wide spacing. Widely spaced teeth can be a symptom of illnesses, some of which are causes of grave concern. Spaced teeth concerns can be quite serious as teeth are sometimes forced apart by the growth of tumors in the mouth and surrounding tissue.

Widely Spaced Teeth in children usually close as they grow. In cases where the jaw bone keeps growing, spaces between teeth do not disappear.
