Communication is a major need of human beings and without communication, we are no different from other creatures we grow along. Although other creations like birds, animals, trees and other living beings communicate through sounds, vibrations, and other modes, we as people are very fortunate to have language /s to communicate. Language does not come automatically but should be learned. To learn a language, stimulation through someone is needed. Language is an important aspect required for every human being to converse and communicate with each other. The development of language is a process where it is learned and practiced at different levels. The primary source of stimulation of language is a child&rsquo,s parents. A child develops vocabulary skills and verbal skills when the parents keep talking and reading to the child day in and day out. However, children or even adults who lack in this are referred to speech therapists, who play a crucial role in stimulating language skills. They teach, train, evaluate the development at regular intervals to monitor and also alter the course of action plan according to individual needs. Language stimulation requires repetition of words, phrases and sentences and practice. This stimulation is not possible only with the therapist because the child is connected with parents, caretakers, extended family members. Hence, a therapist involves the parents and if possible other members to enhance the development which they have initiated. The success of the language stimulation depends on the involvement of everyone concerning the child and the way they work together to make the learner develop into a better communicator of language.
