About Bactoclav Dry Syrup

Being a penicillin antibiotic, this syrup treats bacterial infections of the lungs and airways, skin, middle ear, sinuses, and the urinary tract. It also treats conditions like tonsillitis, pneumonia, bronchitis, and gonorrhea. This medication interferes with the synthesis of the cell wall of a bacteria and stops it from growing.

Common side effects may include stomach pain, vomiting, nausea, headache, vaginal itching or discharge or swollen or black tongue. Call your doctor at once if you have the following after using this medicine

    This medication is a Penicillin antibiotic and inhibits the transfer of a peptide group in the transpeptidation process. As a result the bacterium is not able to build cell walls and is killed. It also works as a beta-lactamase inhibitor by binding to beta-lactamase enzyme produced by bacterial cells, which in turn inhibits its enzymatic action and prevents beta-lactam antibiotics from being metabolised by the enzyme.
