Here are types of Chemical Peels and Microderbaism

Hi I’m Dr. Sandesh Gupta, the owner of Skin N Laser Centre. Today we’ll discuss chemical peels and microdermals. It is a way to exfoliate the skin in a controlled way by using chemicals so that the old skin falls off and new skin appears in its place. It is a very effective treatment in treating the pigmentation, acne scars, skin ageing and wrinkle signs. There are three types of chemical peels available in the market; Superficial peels, medium peels and mixed peels.

Superficial peels are the mildest kind of peels and can be used for all skin types and are used to get glow on the face. The second type of peel is the medium peels and it can penetrate the skin more deeply than the superficial peel and is done on those with deep scars and pigmentation, an acid which can be done to remove warts and deep scars. The third type of peels are the mixed peels which are most common and are a mixture of various acids like the Mandelic acid and lactic acid because they rejuvenate the skin, now how these peels are done, they are done in a very simple process which takes about 3-5 minutes and before the peel we should check if the patient is prone to the Sun or if he is coming directly from the Sun, then we would have to apply the ice pack for 5 minutes and then start with the application process.

Before the peel, the skin id cleaned with alcohol to clean the dirt and oil from the skin and then the exfoliating chemical is applied to the skin with the help of a small brush or a cotton tip applicator and we leave this chemical for a few minutes. At this moment the patient may feel a slight tingling sensation and after that with the help of water alcohol, we neutralize it and wipe it off. By this process the dead skin is dissolved or gets peeled off in 2-3 days so that the new fresh skin can start to come. After the peel, for the next few days there is a routine precaution step to be followed where mild moisturizer and sun screen can be applied to the face but do not rub it for 2-3 days because your skin will be slightly sensitive so it is advisable to not rub but rather mop the skin.

So these chemical peels are very effective and help you get a good and healthy skin. In case of any further enquiry you can contact me via Lybrate.
