About UNISTAR 75 CAPSULE

Unistar capsule is a drug which is used to lower the cholesterol level and triglycerides in the body. It also used to prevent cardiovascular diseases. This capsule is a combination medication comprising of constituents belonging to a group of drugs known as statins and anti-platelets. It is helpful in reducing the need for medical procedures to open blocked vessels.

This capsule must be used as per directed by the doctor. You should consult with your doctor regarding the intake of this drug in case you are suffering from kidney disease or undergoing dialysis. Some other conditions that require the doctor’s clearance are if

    How does this medication work?

    This capsule is a selective and competitive inhibitor of HMG-CoA reductase, the rate-limiting enzyme that converts 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A to mevalonate, a precursor for cholesterol. The primary site of action of rosuvastatin is the liver, the target organ for cholesterol lowering. Rosuvastatin increases the number of hepatic LDL receptors on the cell-surface, enhancing uptake and catabolism of LDL and it inhibits the hepatic synthesis of VLDL, thereby reducing the total number of VLDL and LDL particles. And Aspirin present in the medicine acts as an anti-platelet and prevents the formation of harmful clots of blood.
