About Risdone Ls Tablet

Composed of Risperidone and Trihexyphenidyl, Risdone tablet belongs to the drug group known as atypical antipsychotic. It is used in the treatment of psychotic disorders. This medication can treat schizophrenia and manic depression. This medication helps in restoring the balance of neurotransmitters (chemical messengers) in the brain, which can eventually reduce the symptoms associated with psychotic disorders.

The dosage of this medication will be decided by your doctor and ensure that you follow his/her instructions. You can take this medicine with food or without. In case of a missed dose, skip it if you are near your next dose.

    How does this medication work?

    This medication is composed of Risperidone and Trihexyphenidyl. Risperidone belongs to the class atypical antipsychotics. It works by binding to the serotonin (5HT2) and dopamine D2 receptors and inhibits the release of chemical substances thus helps in reducing the symptoms. Trihexyphenidyl belongs to anticholinergics. It works by blocking the cholinergic activity in the central nervous system and reduces the body secretions, increases the heart rate, dilates the pupils and reduces spasm of smooth muscle.
