Asked for male, 54 years old from Dharmapuri
Dear Lybrate user
I read your concern. I would suggest you to take counseling along with medicines for your anxiety and sleeping problem. Medicines are alright for sometime but in the long run they are not good. Medicines have side effects. But with counseling, you can better understand the root cause of your anxiety and sleep disturbance. Moreover, suicidal thoughts can be handled by cognitive behavioral therapy, by changing your thought pattern. Medicines can give you results in short time span but are not good in the long run, whereas, counseling is a slow process but can resolve the problem from its roots. For online counseling, you can contact me or for face to face, you can go to a psychologist near you.
